We all know the LED lights are the best type of lights for indoor growing. But not all LEDs are the same, and there’s a wide range of models available in the market. You should be able to pick ones that are perfect for your grow space. Otherwise, you won’t be getting the results you are hoping for. Another thing is to be on the lookout for low quality or “fake” LEDs so you won’t be wasting an investment.

Check for the materials used and the brand.
The materials used to make the LED lights should be high-quality. High-quality materials make these lights last up to 10 years. Check if they are US-made and abide by the highest industry standards. As for the brand, you have to pick one that is used by most growers and have a good reputation in the market. Pick brands that have spent time on research and development for innovating their products.
What plants are you growing?
The lights you are about to get should be suitable for the kind of plants you are growing. Generally, all types of LED lights, to some extent, would do, but some units are made for specific plant needs. This is in particular with the growth stages of the plant. There are some made specifically for the vegetative stage, and there are also units created for both vegetative and flowering stage. Cannabis is a plant that needs both, so if you are a medical marijuana grower go with lights that have an optimal spectrum of lights for both growth stages.
How big is your grow area?
One important factor to consider is the size of your grow space. This determines the number of units you’ll need, as well as the size.
